A San Francisco Police officer called Bob Geary was the subject of a referendum into whether he should be allowed to continue patrolling with his partner Brendan O’Smarty
The reason for the public consultation was that Geary is also a ventriloquist, and O’Smarty his creepy looking dummy.
Geary maintained that the puppet helped him to “establish rapport and break down barriers” while on patrol.
Amazingly, the results of the poll found that the majority of San Franciscans were happy for the two boys in blue to continue on their rounds.
Whatever your line of work, it’s important that you understand what differentiates you from everyone else.
Give people a reason to remember you and, chances are, they’ll love you for it.

- The glasses are important, since I’m almost totally blind in one eye. This means I have zero depth perception. Instead of making snap judgements, I have to think around a subject and look again to try and gain a sense of perspective.
