My old friend Kenny Harris is a great believer in tackling problems from a fresh point-of-view.
That’s what his business is all about.
He believes, as I do, that the moment you embrace a different perspective or approach, new ideas will begin to tumble out.
So in the spirit of different perspectives, let me share a little of his thinking, this is around making presentations.
Kenny’s a big TV fan (aren’t we all) and believes that we can improve our presentations by borrowing the dramatic techniques that are used to build excitement.
For example, try freshening up a graveyard slot presentation with a ‘Previously on...’ segment that recaps what the preceding speakers have discussed.
Alternatively, you could embrace the ‘cliff-hanger’ approach and split a presentation into two halves.
End the first segment with a provocative statement or open question, and you can guarantee an attentive audience when you return to the stage.
